/ Alexander McQueen Flagship Store / Monaco

This store features a single inclined glazed cylinder connecting the ground and first floors.

Positioned to create a visual relationship between the two levels, the glass tube allows views through the building while becoming a distinctive architectural element within the retail space.

As with similar installations within the same retail programme, a bespoke steel drum was first installed and fixed to the building structure, creating the primary framework to which the curved glass panels were connected using specialist point-fixed supports.

The glazed cylinder features a particularly tight curvature and is formed by six bespoke curved glass panels. Three panels form the downstand element at ground floor level, while a further three panels create the balustrade at first-floor level. Together, they create the perception of a single continuous glazed volume spanning both floors.
